Just a little bit in love...

With this man....

I bumped into him last week in Covent Gardens last week. And yes, he was exactly as he is known, like an annoying little kid that you can't help but love!

Glorious England

Promises are easy to break....too easy sometimes.
When i promised to not buy any more stripes. I lied.

Today i am celebrating. My official moving day to London is 3 days time!

I HAVE DREAM...... to one day move abroad and set up base in a foreign country, which one, i haven't quite thought that far.
For those who are happy staying where they are, if that works for you then stay and keep cosy. But i have got the travel bug built in me . I love travelling and want to experience the whole hog of different lifestyles and cultures. What is scary is how different other cultures are to the English way of life, i know it is possible to adapt, but am i too set in my British ways to change?
The language barrier isn't easy to knock down either. For me life is confusing enough without a couple of hundred other languages to pick up on the way around. Languages certainly make life a little trickier and a world with just one language would be much simpler. But who wants simple and easy? Challenges make the tedious things exciting.
Moving to London is a huge step to take, this growing up business is getting pretty serious. So for now i am not ready to give up everything i have in glorious England.....one day though.....I promise!

'Get the London look'

According to August Vogue the seasons of dramatic make-up are over. Yes that is a small cheer you hear from me. Piling on eyeshadow with eyeliner is definatly not my fortey and i come out looking like the man side of drag queen. So i am extremly over the moon to hear the barely there approach is back.
Everwhere you lookit is clear this autumn / winter is about restraint and minimalism, and i cannot get enough.
With its neutral pallete this is definatly the designers way of drawing all attention to the clothes. I love the less is more statement.

I am not so talented on the make-up techniques so i decided to try this more refined image for myself and put its simplicity to the test. Vogue explained it is all about depth in the eye socket, velvety skin and most importantly strong, sculpted cheekbones. This sounded easy enough....
and it was. I kept my base clean with foundation, and applied bronzer on my cheekbones. I also applied a light powder above this bronzer, to emphasize my cheekbones more so, a little trick i learned from some teenage magazine that has stuck with me.
I used a light beige eyeshadow all over my eyelid, then swept around a dark brown from the outside corner in. To finish i used a black eyeliner pencil close to my eyelashes from the ouside corner in.
My view on this barely there make-up look....huge thumbs up. It empahasised my best features and made my blue eyes come out to play. It was easy to do and lasted all day with only a little re-applying eyeliner. Definatly my 'London look' as Kate Moss or Sophie Ellis Bexter would say.

We're all sheep...

I was in London on Thursday, and as a newbie to the city (officially moving in August)  i am still constantly overwhelmed by the amount of people there are, but all the same i L.O.V.E it, probably because it's all new and exciting to me.
Struggling to walk the distances swapping tubes in my clogs i wondered why on earth are people walking so damn fast?
Are people actually in a rush to get from A to B or is this the London underground pace that i have to learn to catch up with?
Just because a handful of important business people are actually in a rush do we all have to run around like headless chicken, panting and puffing (and sweating on this particular day in the summer heat).  Yes. It would seem so.
And i am quite happy to go along with the exciting buzz of London city, and build up strong, toned legs along the way.
