Oops i did it again...

I think they kind of look like slippers, but that's fine by me as they are as comfy as them.
i never see myself as a shoe lover, however this is clearly changing. Judging by the size of my shoes label in my tags cloud i am quite a fan of them. Just as well for the time being until someone buys me my Mulberry Alexa. hint hint cough cough. I have always wanted some colourful shoes, and when i spotted these in River Island sale i met my perfect match. Simple lilac shoes with a full black outfit will make the ultimate impact. And the studs make them not so twee, which makes them so Emily (me).

Shoe-ccessful

Seriously, I am on fire in this summer's sales.  My last Next...yes Next yet again sale purchase. I think i've made that promise a few times now ...hmm...
These brogues are a perfect camel/sand colour for this Autumn Winter. Real leather and at a bargain of £20, how was i going to resist.
What i am surprised about and what made me buy them was how vintage they look. With a wooden heel and slightly battered, darker leather on the toe i could easily pass these off for and Oxfam vintage purchase.
I'm pairing them with some socks, also Next sale (shockingly enough) for the ultimate preppy school girl look and to keep my tootsies warm.

The cold is coming

But not so soon that i can't whip my short yet bronzed legs out and give them a run for their money.
I am in absolute love with my new jumper. Oh and did i mention it is another, yes another, bargain SALE find.
It has to be said FCUK do have one of the best sales, both summer and winter. This jumper i was convinced was not in the sale. At £37 i have met my true love for the winter.
I am tucking it into my high waisted H&M shorts which are luxury to wear and baring my legs.
Paired with my nine west boots, which guess what, surprise surprise were a sale buy 2 years ago from Selfridges & co along with some preppy cream socks i am all set for the breezy autumn days.

Guilty Pleasure

I love that clean cut minimalism look. A piece of clothing that just transforms your outfit and mood in seconds. I am slowly starting to acquire a wardrobe of these classic pieces, building up my own Gok interchangeable wardrobe.
This jacket it my new found autumn love.  I have had my eye on it since it first came into Topshop about 2 months ago. The colour is so crisp and i can not get enough of the slightly masculine details, but at £65 i couldn't find a good enough reason, not that just wanting it wasn't a valid reason. With London and placement coming i now have a reason to shop shop shop. When i went in search of the jacket, it was the last size 8 in the sale. At £20, it was a bargain and of course, complete fate!
P.S check out MJ in the background! He really is my guilty pleasure. RIP

Shake your booty

Everyone has clothes in their wardrobe that they haven't worn for months upon months. Clothes which eventually get binned, passed down to family and friends or sent to a charity shop.  Me and my mum had such a collection we decided to take part in a nearby car boot sale.
After weeks of sorting out, we ended up with 20 bin bags full of clothes. Clothes which were in mint condition, that have been worn and loved, as well as them fashion faux pas.
Waking up at 5.30am didn't bother me, it was all part of the excitement. By 6.30am we were all set up and our clothes were flying out like there was no tomorrow. When we arrived we were hounded by the regular car booters, and boy did they know they were getting it good. We were selling Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Marks and Spencer, next clothes at £3 and under. (check out my home made sign, it worked and absolute charm.) What got me was this completely other world happening at 7.30am on a Sunday morning, bargain hunters where out in full swing.
By 12 midday, we'd made over £200 and our stand was looking less high street and more market stall, what was left was looking at bit drab, as was my enthusiasm....getting up at the crack of dawn was taking it's toll and i camped out in our empty boot for a while.

We made a wopping £300. I can not believe it! We truly car booted and with matchsticks keeping my eyes open, I'm truly feeling the effects.

Same again next year?

Sales galore

Why do i even bother? I hate shopping on busy Saturdays. I hate the pushing and shoving.
So why did i even bother heading into Manchester on the most chaotic shopping day of the year!? I was asking myself this question all morning, as i got elbowed left right and centre around a topshop rail. I didn’t want it last season so why would i want it now? Walk away Emily, walk away.
I am in complete awe of a shopper with a great sale find. A piece that isn't from two years ago, is half price and an investment. This is an event that rarely happens, but have faith, it does! And for once, it happened to me.
French Connection, the only sale on the high street where i didn’t have to tackle through rails of 3 summers ago vest tops, whilst dodging two women squabbling over last season’s mini. I had the space to browse and undeniably enjoy a sale.
The half price New Years Eve dress from £120 is sale perfect.
I can’t wait to brag that i hit the January sales and succeeded in what every shopper dreams of doing, bagging that January sale item your proud of.
The only advice i give to anyone willing to trawl the January sales, is hit the designers! Yes you have to queue early but you’re getting quality, at high street prices.
